This year the City of Orem is working together with the community to support the efforts of the Now I Can Foundation, a charitable organization founded by a local family in 2006. Now I Can is one of only a few places in the world where kids with physical challenges can go to learn how to sit, stand and walk. They help hundreds of children each year and maintain a residence where families may stay during treatment. Now I Can offers financial help to families who cannot pay; and 100% of donations help children who only want a few things for Christmas—to be able to sit up to see a toy, to take independent steps, or to hold their own head up to see the pretty lights. Between December 2nd-20th the City of Orem will be collecting items to benefit children seeking help through Now I Can. Items to be collected include AA batteries, paper towels, baby/cleaning wipes, hand soap/sanitizer, Nerf balls, Sharpie markers, small new toys, gift cards, and monetary donations. Collection boxes in the form of sleighs will be located at the Orem Fitness Center, City Center Rotunda, and the Public Safety building. Items can also be dropped off at the Public Works building located at 1450 West 550 North. In addition to the sleighs, there is a money jar available at the Orem Library for loose change or gift cards you may want to donate. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Public Works Volunteer Coordinator at 801-229-7560 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you so much for your donation.
