Every year the Orem Public Library presents a Holiday Concert Series featuring evening performances from a variety of performing groups across Utah. This year’s series will take place November 21–December 16, and includes instrumental, choral, and sing-along pieces ranging from sacred and traditional to contemporary and festive. Here is the schedule:
The Utah Valley Handbell Ringers, Friday, December 2, at 7:00 pm: Directed by Karen Eskew-Willey, this renowned choir is composed of 56 bells, each tuned to a single note, which when rung together create melodies full of rich overtones.
Nutcracker Gala, Saturday, December 3, at 4:00 pm: The gala will feature selections from the Nutcracker Ballet performed by the Academy of Ballet, a Nutcracker photo booth, and a special treat from the Land of Sweets.
Utah Baroque Ensemble, Monday, December 5, at 6:00 pm & 7:30 pm: Join the Utah Baroque Ensemble for a fun, informal family concert. The choir will alternate music from their recent Christmas concert with sing-along carols with the audience. Children are welcome.
Timpanogos Chorale with the American Fork Children’s Choir, Friday, December 9, at 7:00 pm: Timpanogos Chorale is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide members with vocal opportunities, to aid in the development of their musical talents and skills, to assist in the development of their appreciation for beautiful music from diverse cultures and genres, and to present such music to the community. Join them for a joint holiday concert with the American Fork Children’s Choir.
Chauntenettes, Monday, December 12, at 7:00 pm: The Chauntenettes’ 68th annual Christmas concert includes a variety of family-friendly, fun, and sacred music.
Wasatch Classical Guitar, Tuesday, December 13, at 7:00 pm: This classical guitar ensemble featuring students and teachers of Mark Alger’s private classical guitar studio will perform a Christmas recital.
Musica Antiqua, Wednesday, December 14, at 7:00 pm: This medieval and Renaissance ensemble has performed along the Wasatch Front for forty years. Come be delighted by their program of Christmas music ranging from the 13th century through medieval times and the Renaissance to Baroque and even newer arrangements.
Utah Vocal Arts Academy, Thursday, December 15, at 7:00 pm: Utah Vocal Arts Academy (UVAA) presents holiday tunes to enjoy and more in its annual Singer’s Showcase, a recital featuring songs from classical, Broadway, and commercial genres sung by award-winning vocalists.
An Rogaire Dubh, Friday, December 16, at 7:00 pm: Celebrate the holiday season with legendary Thomas Cordner Memorial Pipe Band and An Rogaire Dubh for a very special Celtic Christmas party featuring favorite songs and dancing from the Emerald Isle.
