CoderDojo: Gaming/Coding Club for Kids 8 and up
4:00−6:00 PM / Storytelling Wing

Are you a coding ninja? Would you like to become one? Join us Wednesday afternoons to meet other computer coders and mentors, learn new languages, and work on coding, gaming, and other tech projects. All levels and abilities are welcome. Bring your own computer or use one of ours.

Kids ages 6-12 are invited to join Miss Michelle, Lego Brick Specialist, on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month for a creative Lego storytime with books, fun facts, mini and free builds, and show & tell. Come watch the performers in the preliminary Liars contest. The event is a partnership between the Timpanogos Storytelling Institute and the Orem Public Library, and is free and open to the public. If you are interested in competing, visit org for registration information.

Research Revolution: Tardigrades in Antarctica

This January, Josh Heward visited Antarctica as part of the Polar TREC (Teachers and Researchers Exploring and Collaborating) expedition to study tardigrades, notoriously hardy microscopic organisms.  Josh teaches Zoology, Biotechnology, and AP Biology at Timpanogos High School in Orem, Utah, where he shares his passion for biology by involving his students in authentic research experiences.
