This Week in the Library

Here are some programs to look for this week: Utah Baroque Ensemble Scholarship Concert tonight, a ballet performance of The Ugly Duckling tomorrow, and a Physics Outreach Show for kids next Tuesday. Also in April we have a new theme for our Monday/Friday film screenings: “Hand-Drawn Animation.”

CoderDojo: Gaming/Coding Club for Kids 8 and up
4:00−6:00 PM / Storytelling Wing

Are you a coding ninja? Would you like to become one? Join us Wednesday afternoons to meet other computer coders and mentors, learn new languages, and work on coding, gaming, and other tech projects. All levels and abilities are welcome. Bring your own computer or use one of ours.

Utah Baroque Ensemble presents its 9th annual student scholarship competition, open to all Utah County students in grades 9–12. Vocal and instrumental artists will perform works from the masters of the Baroque era and will be judged on their skill and mastery of the Baroque style.

The Ugly Duckling Ballet

Come enjoy a fun, original performance of the Ugly Duckling by some of Brigham Young University’s premiere dancers, also including interactive demonstrations and activities for children on the lessons taught in Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story.

Utah Music Teachers Association Concert

Join the top students of Provo and Orem teachers belonging to the Utah Music Teachers Association for an honors recital. This is the concluding awards and honors ceremony for students recently completing the Achievement in Music program (AIM), which prepares and tests students in music performance, theory, history, ear training, and sight reading.
