Last Chance to See

adams last chance copyLast Chance to See by Douglas Adams: The BBC hired Adams (from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy fame) and co-writer Mark Carwardine to find and film endangered species throughout the world. The result is a highly accessible, even humorous, introduction to the animal kingdom. The adventurous crew traversed the world to learn about the komodo dragon, northern white rhinoceros, mountain gorilla, kakapo, baiji dolphin, and rodrigues fruit bat. While the 1991 publication date may date some of the information, the title is a fantastic introduction to the natural world and also the book that Douglas Adams was most proud of writing.
